Industrial butterfly valves
Define the butterfly-valve arrangement around the line, the medium and the duty.

Concept illustration; not a certified technical drawing or a confirmed supplied configuration.
Start with the duty.
Define the butterfly-valve arrangement around the line, the medium and the duty.
- Seat design and material compatibility
- Nominal size, connection and installation envelope
- Differential pressure and actuator sizing
Build a complete enquiry.
Process conditions
Provide the medium, temperature and pressure envelope, solids content and operating sequence.
Mechanical interfaces
State nominal size, connection standard, installation orientation and available space.
Acceptance & actuation
Define shut-off criteria, actuator requirements, fail position and project documentation.
Pressure class, size range, materials, performance and certifications are confirmed only for the agreed configuration. No general application guide establishes product suitability.

Butterfly valves: procurement questions
What defines an industrial butterfly valve requirement?
Start with the medium, size, pressure and temperature envelope, seating arrangement and line connections. Add operating frequency, differential pressure and installation constraints.
How should actuation be specified?
State the available power or air supply, control signals, fail action, stroke time and position feedback requirements. Actuator sizing must be checked for the proposed valve and duty.
Can I use a butterfly valve in every application listed here?
The application guides describe process requirements. Suitability must be confirmed separately for the selected valve, materials, sealing arrangement and operating envelope.
Prepare a service-specific RFQ.
Use the valve selection guide to define the process, mechanical interfaces and acceptance criteria.
