Product overview

Cryogenic butterfly valves for LNG

The flanged butterfly valve uses an extended stem arrangement for cryogenic isolation. Selection requires the minimum design temperature, pressure-temperature combination, required sealing criteria and installation conditions.

Configuration review

Focus on the conditions that matter.

01

Materials and temperature

Confirm model-specific body, disc, stem and seal materials against the design conditions.

02

Low-temperature verification

Specify valve test temperature, pressure, leakage criteria and operating cycles. Material impact tests and complete valve tests are separate records.

03

Installation and actuation

Review stem orientation, insulation, access, actuator operation and the required fail position.

Technical requirements

Define the required configuration.

Size & connections

Nominal size, pressure class, connection standard and face-to-face dimensions.

Operating envelope

Normal and design temperature/pressure, differential pressure and operating frequency.

Materials & sealing

Body and trim materials, flow direction and required shutoff criteria.

Actuation & testing

Power or air supply, fail position, stroke time, inspection records and acceptance tests.

Size ranges, pressure-temperature ratings, materials and test documentation are confirmed for the proposed model and service conditions.

Before requesting a quotation

Common specification questions.

What information should I send?

Include the medium, valve size, pressure class, operating and design temperatures, differential pressure, connection details, quantity and actuation requirements.

Can this replace an existing valve?

Send the existing valve datasheet and installation drawing. A replacement assessment compares dimensions, materials, operating limits, sealing requirements and actuation. Matching nominal size alone does not establish interchangeability.

Which ratings and tests apply?

The quotation and agreed model datasheet define the applicable ratings, materials, inspection scope and acceptance criteria. Include your project standards and documentation requirements with the enquiry.

Prepare a service-specific RFQ.

Use the selection guide to define the process, mechanical interfaces and acceptance requirements.
