High-temperature steam valve applications
Start-up, shutdown and load changes make the full steam operating profile essential to selection.
The application
Power systems use distinct valve functions for steam isolation, pressure reduction and turbine bypass. Bypass systems may also require desuperheating. The valve, actuator and surrounding system must be evaluated against the specific duty and transient conditions.
What makes the duty demanding
- Thermal movement during plant transients
- Sealing demands across changing conditions
- Mismatch between valve function and process duty
Selection focus
Treat isolation and steam conditioning as separate engineering duties. Confirm whether a specialist control solution is required before considering an isolation-valve family.
