LNG & cryogenic valve requirements
Liquefaction, storage and transfer duties call for temperature-specific materials, sealing and operating arrangements.
The application
LNG facilities include gas treatment, liquefaction, storage and loading systems. Cryogenic duties introduce a distinct operating envelope that must be reflected in valve materials, sealing and installation requirements. Ambient-condition performance cannot establish cryogenic suitability.
What makes the duty demanding
- Loss of sealing through thermal contraction
- External leakage during temperature transitions
- Unsuitable installation or actuation arrangements
Selection focus
Confirm cryogenic qualification and the required test documentation for the offered configuration. Review the complete valve and actuator arrangement with the project specification.
