Black liquor valve requirements
Changing liquor concentration and process conditions require a location-specific valve review.
The application
Black liquor evaporation removes water before the liquor is sent onward to chemical recovery. Conditions change through the evaporation train as concentration increases. Valve enquiries should distinguish liquor handling from steam and condensate duties in the same area.
What makes the duty demanding
- Deposits affecting valve movement
- Changing flow behaviour with liquor concentration
- Sealing and material compatibility concerns
Selection focus
Review materials, internal geometry and cleaning conditions for the specified stream. Include the expected concentration range rather than a single nominal operating point.
